Keenan’s POV
I had joined the military unofficially, as it would take about three weeks for my appointment to be finally confirmed. This was not because I was lacking according to their standards—no, it was just a matter of protocols heaped in senseless bureaucracy.
But three weeks were nothing to me, who had been waiting years. It was not a hard shift, as I was used to such grueling training before under the tutelage of my mother. My mother should have been a captain in the army; she was the most grueling trainer I had ever met.
“Harder Michael!” Andrew shouted. He was the one in charge of supervising my training, and I could tell by the way he was training me hard that he was a sore loser. He still bore a grudge for defeating me the last time. It was laughable that he thought he was punishing me, but in truth he was only training me harder, which was exactly what I needed.
