Keenan’s POV

“So you made it alive, huh?” Andrew taunted me when he saw me days after my second encounter with the vampire.

I had to take a leave of absence for a few days after that as I had to recover from the vampire’s bite. It had not been so serious at first and I had even managed to carry the ‘mad prince’ after the ritual back to the harbor where his guards were waiting to receive him. I remembered that they had not expressed shock at the sight of their ‘insane prince’ who had arrived earlier with his senses intact.

It was as I had thought: the vampire king had sent them to ensure the prince did not escape his fate. Unfortunately for them, the prince never lost his sanity and while I dragged his ‘body’ back to the harbor he had flashed his regenerated fangs briefly at me.
