Chapter 6
An already exhausted Raya had passed out as soon as the fire had started burning. She had been through a lot that day, and it was even a miracle that she had not passed out sooner. They were stuck in the middle of the woods with no help, and the fire seemed to be spreading rapidly.
He knew there was no escape for them. He had travelled through the woods severally and knew every nitty gritty of it but his knowledge of the woods was proving useless against the menacing flames that approached them.
He closed his eyes and allowed a drop of tear to slide down his cheek. There was no way he was going to avenge the death of those two innocent men if he was dead. There was also no way he could expose the dark secrets of the pack leaders if he were dead.
He thought of his mother’s last words as she drew her last breath. “Teach them a lesson,” she choked out.
