Raya’s POV

“She’s just a little girl, you have to let her go,” I insisted.

The look on Keenan’s face was bordering on the sinister and I could tell he was close to ending Matilda’s life. I understood his reason but Matilda was innocent in all of this. And as I had come to understand that she might not even be Lord Christopher’s child I had come to pity.

However, even if it turned out that the man was her father it would not change how I felt about her. I was a firm believer that children need not suffer for the sins of their parents. If the Dark Moon pack had found my father guilty of murder, they should have left things that way, why had they had to include me? Why had it been reason enough for Thallus to publicly reject me?
