Keenan’s POV

“You wouldn’t dare,” Thallus said in a weak voice but I could see the fight had left him. I was not certain who Lord Christopher was using to blackmail Thallus but I did not think it was Lady Finn. It had to be someone closer, dearer to Thallus than any other.

“You think?” questioned Lord Christopher.

“I understand, just leave her out of this,” he said turning to leave.

“No, you don’t, perhaps I should have Alfie call…”

“Leave her out of it,” repeated Thallus.

“I take it then that you shall be at the next meeting? We are far behind on our agenda,” said Lord Christopher.

Thallus’s face was contorted in anguish but he still managed to say, “Yes,” with the calmest voice he had.

Lord Christopher had something on Thallus. Something that kept him in check; that made it easy for him to push Thallus about. I wondered if it were possible to retrieve this person from the hold of Lord Christopher would Thallus be free to rule
