Chapter 95
Keenan’s POV
When I saw that Thallus had fallen asleep, I checked the room to ensure it had not been tampered with while I had been away. When I was sure it was completely safe to leave Thallus alone, I left the room quietly.
My destination was Lord Christopher’s house which was not so far from the palace. I took a horse from Thallus’s personal stable (I was the only permitted to do so asides Lord Bryon) and once I had let it out of the palace (I was not stopped because of my position as right hand to the king), I mounted the horse and made my way to his house.
I stopped the horse a little way from the palace and walked the rest of the way to his house. I had to be very careful; Lord Christopher had a very strident security whose orders were to shoot at anything remotely suspicious.
