Chapter 19. Dawning of Peril

I had packed my things and stared up at the night sky. The surrounding stillness signaled that it was safe to flee the Pack. Using the drainpipe by my window, I descended. My daily judo and gym training from my days in the human world paid off. I swiftly reached the ground and stealthily walked through the back of the Manor, where, fortunately, no security guards were posted that night.
