Chapter 3. Execution
Adrianna’s POV
I continued running, my breath coming out in sharp breathless pants; still, determination surged me forward. I looked around me and saw I was far deep into the forest, almost close to the border that linked our pack to another pack, and almost immediately, I felt hope; perhaps if my legs could just carry me a little more, I’d successfully be able to lose Alaric and Giselle.
I shot a glance behind me and noticed how the footsteps behind me seemed to have stopped. Obviously, I had lost them. I let out a grateful sigh and turned to charge forward, but that was when it happened—Crack!
