Chapter 6. Seized
Adrianna’s POV
I stood there frozen as every single eye turned to stare at me, and honestly, I wanted the ground to just swallow me whole right then and there because this was the worst possible situation I could be in.
Marcus stopped smirking and started walking toward me. With each step he took, my heart pounded harder against my chest like it was trying to escape from my body.
He circled me slowly like I was some kind of animal he was thinking about buying at a market, and I hated how his eyes looked me up and down like he was trying to figure out what made me so special.
“So you’re the one,” he said, and his voice was cold, but there was something else in it, too, like he thought this whole thing was funny.
I didn’t say anything because I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to say, because my throat felt so tight, and I wasn’t sure I could even get words out if I tried.
