Draven’s POV

I pinched the skin on my forehead as I left Maeve’s chamber. I had stayed up all night waiting for her, but she never returned. I thought she might be elsewhere, but she wasn’t in the witches’ quarters, nor with Elysia and Aria, nor in my office.

I strode toward my own chambers as though I were a lunatic deprived of his medication. It was absurd to imagine Maeve had spent the night there—she would never do that—but I was out of ideas. I needed to find her, to know she was somewhere within these castle walls.
