Number 42’s POV

I opened my eyes blearily to the sunlight streaming through a huge window set in the wall opposite to me.

Four sets of voile panels were strung elegantly across the curtain pole and draped the edges of the window, trailing to the floor, and held back with a curved gold tie back that was fixed to the wall.

A sense of confusion fell over me as I gazed around the elegantly decorated room from a position of comfort. I propped myself up and almost jumped as I realized the surface below me was soft.

Upon closer examination, I realized I was ensconced within a large, sumptuous bed, surrounded by large soft pillows and a soft duvet with blankets layered across the bottom of the bed. Was I dreaming?

‘No. We aren’t dreaming.’ My wolf said excitedly. ‘Nate brought us home last night. This is home. We are home.’ She continued dreamily, the image of her stretching languidly projected clearly into my mind.
