Nate’s POV

Brutus hadn’t given me a moment’s peace since Ember had been taken two days ago. I had resorted to blocking him out as he ranted incoherently, knowing full well that his sanity and temper was being held together only by the faint hope that Ember was alive somewhere and the promise of enacting his revenge on the evil bitch that had taken her.

Rob was faring no better. Crassus was wild with fury and he had resorted to combing the woods for clues, in an effort to find something, anything that might be of use in finding her.
