Chapter 48

After the scene Mark had created, Elizabeth decided that she couldn't stay another moment in that land of madness. She began to pack her bags with the intention of leaving on the first flight to London. That's when Regina and Tobias found her as they entered her hospital room. They were the ones who prevented Mark from killing her, arriving just in time to remove him before he could strangle her.

The officers were still around the building, so they immediately arrested him, not without him shouting to the high heavens that he was a monster and that he had killed the love of his life. It didn't help that he appeared completely insane while saying it, and Elizabeth looked genuinely terrified.

The charges of attempted murder would keep him away from her for a while. However, she wasn't sure whether to press charges against him, as that would mean getting the police involved in a way that wouldn't be convenient at all.
