Chapter 18. Glued Heels
Aaron and I were now sitting at a corner table at the nearby cozy ice cream parlor after ordering our ice creams.
I was drumming my fingers on the table when Aaron slipped his hand in his pocket to take out his phone. “No phones,” I alerted, narrowing my eyes at him.
“Don't worry. I don't have my phone. I was looking for my card,” he replied.
“Where's your phone? You never forget it.”
He scratched the back of his neck and said, “Uh, it broke.”
“It was okay when I left this morning. How did it break?” I arched an eyebrow suspiciously.
“It slipped from my hand.”
“How does a phone simply break by—”
“Oh, look, there's a big poster of you right there.” He pointed at a random advertisement poster, which reminded me of the story behind it. Then I started telling about that photoshoot.
“Hey, when are we attending that talk-show together?” I asked when the thought suddenly popped into my head.
