Chapter 100. Different This Time

Mr. Jakob gave me the rest of the day as a day off. I didn’t protest anymore. It’s like all my energy just got drained into a vacuum, and I’m withered. Too tired to even think of what’s going to happen in the next days… or months… or years. I hate the thought that this occupies more of my thoughts at the same time that I would like to ignore it.
But how can you ignore the elephant in the room?
You just can’t.
I got out of the building with no idea where to go. I don’t want to go to an empty apartment. Olivia would be home by 5 or 6 pm, so where would I spend these 7 hours?
