Chapter 103. Fortune Cookies

There’s a quote hanging on the wall of the convenience store. Olivia and I stopped over for something to drink. We’ve decided to move into the mansion as soon as we can, and Dad helped us with packing. He sent us Gilbert, one of his butlers to assist our needs and a driver for another car, in case our things would not fit in ours alone.

The quote said, “If you’re looking for a rainbow, be ready for rain.” A simple, overused quote, really. However, for some reason, I pondered on it while Olivia was in a queue at the cashier to pay for four cans of root beer and chocolate bars.

“A penny for your thoughts?” Olivia asked and nudged me on the shoulder.

“Nah, just something about that quote. It’s like… it’s speaking to me.”

Olivia’s eyes wandered to the store and found the quote I was pertaining to. She nodded slowly.

“I get it… You can relate to it, don’t you?”
