Chapter 111. Haunted

The car parked in the same spot I did from that day under the rain.
“Are you sure you don’t want any help?” Lyle said.
“Yeah. It’s just a coffee order,” I said and unbuckled my seat belt.
I got out of the car and walked towards the door of the coffee shop. I pushed it open, and I went straight to the counter. I said my order, and of course, Ted was there.
“Ash! What a surprise,” he said and faked a smile.
Of course, when some of them heard my name, they peeked from the kitchen. Suddenly I became a celebrity for the shop staff. But not in a good way.
“Hey there, Ted. Yeah, I was doing errands nearby and decided to buy my dad a coffee.”
I was fiddling with my purse. I don’t like attention. I don’t like the stares, knowing that inside their heads, they’re dying to ask about Dylan, the better person in our failed marriage.
“That’s good. I hope you enjoy your coffee,” Ted said and got back to the kitchen.
