I sighed.
What if there were only two possibilities that we could be with each other? If we were lovers, or if we were strangers and did not talk at all?
Is there no in-between?
Are we not friends at all?
I don’t think I’m ready to answer those types of questions. I even feel like they’re not supposed to be answered. This fine line between me and Ashlene has no name on it. What I just know is that I’m not in the most comfortable place with her.
But I’m willing to compromise if she is.
“So, is there anything you suggest for us to do?”
She looked up at me. Being the taller one, her eyes glistened like two mirror balls waiting to be acknowledged.
“I just want us to be okay. Surely there’s a way for us to be okay without fighting, right?”
To be honest, I don’t know how. I have zero ideas in my head right now. I just needed time to be okay with all of it, perhaps. But that would take me months, years even.
