After that quick talk, I escorted Ashlene back to the events hall, where the number of people had doubled. And I wasn’t the only person who was in awe.
It was what most people say, “You’ll know if you’ve been a good person if many people show up at your funeral,” which is an illogical thing because how would you know? How would Klaire Ridley know almost sixty people had come to bid their goodbyes? See, that’s the thing. Only her loved ones would get to see that. Only Ashlene and the Ridley boys would know that they possessed a real gem in the form of the mother of the family.
“Wow… I didn’t expect this on the first night,” Ash said as the door opened, and she saw the full view of the hall.
“There are too many people. I believe your mother was an angel,” I said. Ash’s hands were covering her mouth. She had a very overwhelmed look in her eyes.
“Let me just say hi to some people,” she said and walked towards the benches.
