Chapter 57. A Good Husband
DYLAN
6 pm came quicker than I expected. I don’t know if the location of the place is the reason for that, but I don’t think the time here is the same as normal. How come I already wasted three hours of my time just having coffee over the pool?
Someone called Ashlene an hour ago and she came back to the room. She said it’s something about her upcoming law school interview and some paper works she has to finish before it. I guess when I walk towards the room now, I’ll see her in front of her laptop, typing aggressively. She has a habit of doing that when she’s stressed.
I kind of needed that to happen, too. An hour of thinking alone here made me thought of what I said to her about forgiveness and moving forward.
Because I’m a good husband, I have to be that. I have to make sure that happens.
I picked up my phone from my lap and called her.
“Ash? Are you done there? The dinner reservation you said starts at 6.”
I heard some background music.
