Chapter 56. Rocky Marriage
DYLAN
It will always feel like this, I think. Anyone with the same experience can sympathize with me. When you’re in a rocky marriage and suddenly you discovered your wife has kissed someone else, I say that will be a constant reminder in your memory.
After the gut-wrenching kiss, Ashlene pulled me out of the waters and back to the rooms. The muddy sand gets stuck on the flip-flops and each step is a struggle. Ash held my hand and when we reached the tiled area, she let it go.
“I already arranged for a dinner reservation by the beach later at 6 pm. Do you have any special requests?”
That you don’t kiss Lyle? Yes.
I blinked that thought away. This is only part of my adjustment, I guess. Of course, she’s my wife, I would always choose to forgive and understand her. No matter what. No matter how hard.
“None,” I said.
“Red or white wine?”
“Red.”
“Okay, then, I’ll just stop over at the receptionist area. Would you like to come?”
