Chapter 83. End of the Road
DYLAN
The car was silent. The rain has poured heavier than how it had been a minute ago. My words hung in the air.
“That’s easy, you know…. telling me you love me so I can change my mind.”
On the surface, yes, that’s what I was thinking about. But that doesn’t make it less true. I loved her more than the arguments we had at the moment. More than the challenges and the possible downfall.
“Because that’s my truth. It didn’t stop being true to me.”
She nodded, and then I knew I had to stop there. She has nowhere to walk out to. If I keep on blabbering about my feelings, I know it would be too much for her.
Instead, I let the rain fill in the silence that is the conversation between me and her. I watched at the steamed windows, with the image of the shop distorted across the street. The highway looked like a reflection of the sky above. The trees were happily dancing with the wind. So did the plants and ornamental flowers at the side of the university
