Chapter 84. Piece of Trash

It was 3 in the afternoon when I finally decided to leave the coffee shop. Ted has given me his contact number in case I decide to stay at his place for a while. I was already considering that. The moment I hand in my signed annulment papers, I would be packing my things. It won’t be long; it won’t even cause me a full day.
“Do you need a car or something? You can use mine. Just bring it back tomorrow. I’ll walk home later; the apartment’s only around that next corner.”
“Are you… are you sure?”
He gave me a nod and tossed the car keys. I caught it in mid-air. Was he being serious? He would entrust his car to me?
“Are you… oh, you were dead serious.”
I murmured my thanks and accepted it. I guess it would be more convenient if I had this. I can leave even in the middle of the night, which is more of a better plan than leaving in daylight when they can see me.
