Chapter 92. 28 Long Years
DYLAN
The announcement rang and rang again to my ears like a broken record. Because of my financial situation, I wasn’t able to attend college. The highest education attainment I had was the freshmen year, and I didn’t even finish the second term.
Growing up in an orphanage, you can only rely on the education that the nuns can provide for you. If you want to reach college, you have to do it all yourself. You have to do the funding, the applications, the studying. I tried, but working at the coffee shop while also paying for my shabby apartment wasn’t exactly enough to pay for the bills.
“Sir, did I hear you correctly? You want to send me to business school?” I clarified.
Mr. Jakob nodded.
“I see pretty good potential in you, Dylan. You can apply for a higher position someday if you have the proper credentials. With the dedication you’ve shown to the company and to your job, all I can say is that you’re worth investing to. I know you won’t let me down.”<
