Chapter 13. The Most Powerful Vampires
Madeline's POV
I breathed in and out as I opened the door slowly. It revealed the familiar face of an old lady. I recognized her from what I saw in Kingdom Monjour when Prince Arthur lended me a book about the creatures. It was Countess Hera, the mother of Countess Marissa.
"My dear one," she said in a cold, chilling voice while smiling sweetly. "I was told by your Auntie Azalea that you were having nightmares and acted so... ummm... hysterical."

"U-Uh..." I stammered. "I am so sorry, Your Majesty," I said and bowed my head. I heard her gasp in disbelief and placed her hand on her chest. "Oh, my, why are you bowing to your own mother, darling?" she mumbled and put her palms on my shoulders. "You must have hit your head or something!"
