Chapter 21. Thank Me for It
Madeline's POV
When I peeked over the cabinet, I saw the other man who I believed the captain of the guards opened the door of the study. Because he was alone in getting outside, I realized that it was my time to reveal myself to Count Reymar who remained inside the room. I heard him sigh before I started walking outside.
"What do you know about the prophecy, Father?"
"Oh, for the love of God!" my father exclaimed and stood up from the chair from sitting when he saw me. "Marissa, darling? What are you doing here?"
He abruptly checked behind me if I was with someone, but when he saw none, he sighed deeply and regarded me now. I went in front of him, the center of us is his wooden table with many valuables he owned. Silence engulfed us, but the tension was strong and loud.
