"Let me help you-"

"I can do it," Marissa instantly cut me off and grabbed her satchel before I could even hold it from the side table. "Uhhh, I'll just wait outside for you."

I was about to ask her what was wrong, but she already turned her back without even saying a word to me and left me in the room. Chills went through my skin as the silence engulfed after she left. I blinked in confusion.

I wonder what is up with her. A while ago, she just woke up from her deep sleep and stared at me when I was waking up from the sofa where I also slept. I reciprocated her meaningful stares, and then later on, she requested to leave and find Victor. That is it, and she seldom talked to me, unlike how we interacted last morning.
