"Forgive me, Angelo, but discussing marriage is not something I am prepared to consider right now. I am currently not in the right frame of mind to contemplate getting married or starting a family," I calmly responded to Angelo, trying to control my emotions.

Angelo's frown deepened at my response. "What do you mean you're not in the right state of mind? Are you still affected by what happened with Rebecca?" he inquired, unaware of Christina's role in the demise of my relationship with Rebecca.

It infuriated me that he was now suggesting marriage with the very person who had caused me so much pain, and played a part in ruining my engagement.

"I believe it's rather impolite of you to bring up Rebecca's name when you know that Daniel prefers not to discuss it or what happened. If he says he's not ready for marriage, you shouldn't question him just because you desire him to marry your daughter,&q
