Chapter 20. Isaac
I sighed in relief as I got off the bus. We arrived at the hotel where we would stay for the next couple of days. Only twenty-four students were present for the trip, and I was lucky to have grabbed a spot. However, it was unfortunate that we were to stay at the same hotel my parents and I lodged in when we arrived in the state. I squinted at the building in the bright afternoon sun and noticed no improvements. The signboard still had a few letters missing.
“Finally!” Anna threw her hands in the air. “The smell of freedom.”
“Sorry to burst your bubble, but I think that is the smell of cigarettes and manure,” I said.
“Oh shut up, do not ruin the moment for me.” She stuck her tongue out at me.
“Gather around everyone.” One of the coordinators said to draw our attention. “You will be in groups of four. So, partner up, and we will assign you all to your rooms. Remember to be on your best behaviour.”
