Chapter 21. Heart to Heart

I had come so close to being bitten by a snake. It gave me chills. I shook it off and returned to the rest of the group.

"Where did you disappear to?" Anna nudged me. 

"I was just checking out some interesting stuff," I said. I did not mention the guy I saw. Anna was most likely to ask me several questions.

"Well, come on, we are heading to a different area before we run out of daylight. We need to head back to the hotel before it is dark."

"Sure," I said and followed her. I turned to glance back one more time just in case, but no one was behind me. I was glad that there was no traffic. Unlike the traffic in Lagos so the journey was smooth and quick. Hawkers stood by the roadside and called out their wares to potential customers. 

"Dodo ikire!" 

"Pure water, buy your cold pure water!" 

"Do you want anything?" I looked behind me to see a guy I recognised from campus but rarely spoke to. 

"No, thanks."
