Chapter 33. Kurt's Arrival

Deeply troubled, Bernard returned to the pack ground in a gloomy mood. After several days of trying to get news about Lucas, he was beginning to fear the worst. He believed that Lucas was captured by Kurt and Cal was sent to replace him. To add to his worries, he wasn't able to contact the old Shaman or Elvira's father either. He had asked Ashley, his daughter, to keep contacting Elvira, but it seemed she too had gone offline. This made him to keep feeling like something terrible would soon happen within the pack.  

Convinced that Kurt will soon appear in Blue-Mist and act on the rest of Lucas' team, Bernard decided to make a deal with Alaric. If Alaric could hand over his granddaughter, he would let Alaric and the rest of his family leave. If he could do that, when Kurt arrives, he would at least have something to show for his loyalty.
