Michael’s POV
Moving into Cassandra’s building was supposed to feel like the first step forward, but all it did was make the knot in my chest tighten.
I’d spent an insane amount of money to convince the old wolf living on her floor to switch apartments with me. The old wolf must had figured our who i was and used it to his advantage but I didn’t care as long as I was close to her.
It was all worth it when I looked forward to see her smiling at me again, a soft, sweet smile, like I was her entire world.
I wasn’t losing her again. Not without a fight.
By noon, I’d finally settled in. The apartment smelled like new paint and my excitement could be perceived all over the house as I rounded around the kitchen to make Cassie’s favourite dish.
I mean, what kind of neighbour would I be if I didn’t introduce myself to my neighbour with a nice warm food that I prepared with all my love?
