Lena’s POV

I was sprawled across the ridiculously large hotel bed, twirling the hem of my shirt as Daisy’s voice chimed through the phone speaker.

“I’m so bored.” She sighed. “Let’s go tonight. It’s been a while since the both of us have hung out together.”

“Actually,” I hesitated then continued. “I’m not in the city. I went on a business trip with Lucas.”

Since Daisy was busy taking care of herself and her baby in preparation for labour, we have not been keeping tabs on each other like before.

There was a full second of silence. “A business trip? You? Why?”

I rolled my eyes even though she couldn’t see me. “Well, Lucas insisted that I learn business from him, so I’ve been going to the company with him.”

“Learning business,” she repeated slowly, sounding suspicious. “From Alpha Lucas Anderson? Are you sure it’s a business you are learning or something else? I don’t trust you two together behind closed doors.”
