Chapter 109. The Bad Morning Call

Austin’s POV

The aroma of fried rice filled the kitchen, warm and buttery, just the way Daisy liked it these days. The pregnancy cravings have turned her into a picky queen. I stirred the pan slowly, trying to make sure the vegetables stayed crisp and the eggs didn’t dry out.

My phone buzzed against the counter and I glanced at it to see that it was Gray calling the group chat in a video call.

I frowned. This wasn’t the right timing.

Daisy was heavily pregnant, moody, hungry, and currently napping on the couch after whining about lower back pain for thirty minutes straight. The last thing I needed was the guys dragging me into some business talk or pack drama.

I chose to ignore it until it stopped ringing. A few seconds later, it started ringing but I still ignored it. Lucas joined, then Ian joined and Gray kept calling me like the building was on fire.

I cursed under my breath and wiped my hand on the towel before finally answering.
