Lucas’s POV
Kael’s eyes darkened as he turned back to me. “Even if she’s safe, you won’t be leaving here alive.”
Micheal stepped forward, his voice deadly calm. “That’s where you’re wrong. It’s you who won’t be getting out of here aiive.”
Ian cracked his neck slowly. “This ends tonight, Kael. It’s over.”
I lifted my head, meeting Kael’s furious gaze despite the pain tearing through me.
“You lost,” I said hoarsely. “I told you, you won’t get away with this.”
Kael’s expression twisted from shock to pure, unhinged rage. He pulled out a gun from inside his jacket in one sharp movement. He pointed the gun straight to my head.
“If I go down, you go down with me.”
I saw Micheal move just as Kael finger pressed on the trigger. The sound of the gunshot echoed in time for Micheal to collide with him, making the bullet miss my head by an inch.
