For a few seconds after Lucas called me honey, my brain completely stopped working.

The entire world seemed to blur around me.

Lucas Anderson, the man I had been desperately trying to forget was standing in front of me.

“Sister in-law, how have you been?” Ian walked up to us and I blinked in surprise. “i assume my mate is somewhere around.”

My heart slammed violently against my ribs as I forced myself to breathe.

This couldn’t be happening. I left to escape the chaos of Moon city and the Anderson family. Why did he have to come here of all places?

I pushed my chair back abruptly and stood up. “I… excuse me.”

Neither Lucas nor Leonard had time to react before I turned and hurried away.

My heels clicked rapidly against the floor as I rushed toward the staircase leading back to the rooftop lounge.

I didn’t stop until I reached the top.

The cool night air hit my face as I stepped outside.
