Chapter 33. Did You Get Over Her?

Lucas’s POV

Lena spent the night at the hospital because she refused to leave until Mr. Carter was fine. I tried to convince her but I had to give up when I saw how determined she was.

The following morning, I walked into the dining room to see Katilyn serving my food.

“Can you help me pack some food for Lena?” I asked. “I’m sure she hasn’t had breakfast yet.”

She smiled and nodded. “Okay, I’ll do that and deliver it to her myself.”

“No, wait.” I stopped her. “I’ll take it to her myself.”

I needed an excuse to go see her and taking the food to her was a good one.

Katilyn gave me a confused look. “I thought you had to attend a meeting this morning.”

“It was rescheduled, so I have enough time,” I answered, then I paused, wondering why I was explaining myself to her. There was nothing wrong in worrying about my wife.
