Max’s POV

The quietness in my room was shattered by the sound of someone knocking on the door. I didn’t bother to look up as I was too caught up in the files I was going through and also because I had a guess of who the visitor was.

“Enter,” I replied when the knock came again.

The door creaked open and shut with a click. Footsteps were approaching followed by a familiar voice, “Mr. Anderson,” the private investigator I hired started. His voice was low and professional and a little cautious. “I was able to get some news on your brother.”
