Chapter 13. Where Is the Father?
Ava’s POV
That afternoon I was standing on the sidewalk in front of the complex. Purse strap through fingers while waiting and checking the phone for the time. There were no empty taxis in sight.
I was trying to order a ride instead when a voice behind me called,
“Ava.”
I turned around to see Mason walking towards me, hands in his pockets, blue eyes fixed on me.
“Where are you going?” he asked when he stopped in front of me.
I replied. “I have an appointment with my doctor this afternoon and I might be late if I don’t get a Taxi soon.”
His expression didn’t and he just simply uttered, “I’ll drive you.”
My brows lifted. “What?”
“I said, I’ll drive you,” he said more clearly.
I smiled. “You don’t have to. I can-”
“Ava.” His voice bricked me and I couldn’t say another word. “I’m driving you to the hospital. Let’s go.”
