Tom glared at Bert, and hurriedly picked up his mobile phone and closed the speaker.
"Miss Adams, sorry, I'm afraid I have to go! I forgot my cat seems to be sensitive! She might be in labor soon, so if you don't mind, I'll take my leave first! Bert will help you, okay?" Tom hurriedly excused himself and switched off Bert's mobile phone and left Allan's office at a slight run.
Eve who saw him was confused, while Bert laughed out loud after putting his mobile phone in his trouser pocket.
"What's wrong with him, Mr Bert? Cat? Giving birth? Does she have a pet cat now?" asked an innocent-looking Eve.
"Haha...Yes, and the cat is big and very fierce, Miss Adams. She's ready to claw anyone right now, I think!" Bert while holding back the remnants of his laughter.
"Huh? Really? Poor Mr Tom!" said Eve, still with her innocence, which apparently never changed despite having a little girl.
Bert was even more amused, but his face tried to be a little serious
