Chapter 45. Take the Call

My phone ringing loudly causes me to quickly hurry out of the room so it won’t wake Eryis up.

“Hi stranger,” I say into the phone.

‘Hi. I hope I’m safe.’

I can’t help but chuckle at Christopher’s words. Since the last video call we had when I abruptly hung the call on him, he’d been conscious to call me even though I’d apologized for that day. We just texted each other.

Today, however, he seems to have a change of heart.

“I told you; my actions that day wasn’t because of you.”

‘I know. It was just kinda scary. Still is.’

“Scarier than the number of times you text me in a day even though the world thinks you’re too busy?”

‘I am busy trying to get on your good side. Hehe. The rest of the world can wait.’
