Chapter 69
Fallon’s POV
“Please, all I ask for is water,” my voice echoed through the dark dungeon cell.
I knew the guards outside could hear me, but as usual, I was ignored.
How long had I been here?
Hours, perhaps a day. Even with the tiny window that could barely fit a rat, I had lost track of time.
Constantly, my mind strayed to Ashley with thoughts of worry. If Lasarati found out I’d been caught and imprisoned, she might never give me the antidote.
That’s if I ever make it out of here.
I didn’t doubt for a second that Ajax would kill me, the man’s eyes burned with pure hatred for me. If he wanted to, I doubted Darius would be able to stop him.
Again, I tried not to think of him. The way he looked haggard as he stormed into the office, his eyes searching for me. Then they softened, holding guilt and worry as if everything was his fault.
I’d never been so confused in my life.
I heard the strong iron doors open from outside.
