Chapter 53
“Okay... okay, sir.” Mary replied, shakingly. Then, she beeped the telephone to redirect the call to the governor.
“Bolton?” The governor said as he picked the call.
“Yes, sir. I just left the station, sir.” Bolton replied the governor with a much calm voice compared to the way he spoke to Mary and his driver, earlier.
“So, what’s what? Any update from Tom?” The governor asked in anticipation of a good work or maybe a lead.
“No, you know how calm Tom is, that’s why I don’t like him as the sheriff. He is too calm to head a department.” Bolton told the governor and he heard the governor sigh from the other end of the phone.
“I’ve known Tom since I started my political career, he is good at what he does. He just needs time.” The governor replied, assuring Bolton about Tom.
“Time? What more time? Until there are no more inhabitants in the town for him to protect? This man is incompetent!” Bolton said, trying to get the governor to change his mind on T
