Chapter 56. Encounter

Easton POV

We continued our conversation about anything that came to mind while we took a walk through the park. I was quite aback to learn that Chloe maintained contact with the friends she had made in her childhood. She claimed that she went to their reunions on occasion, but that she ignored them if she learned that her ex-boyfriend was going to be there.

''You've already met my friends and you're aware that Hans and Liam are my closest buddies, right?'' I sighed. ''But… Hans betrayed me, unfortunately…'' I couldn't help but crack a wry smile upon remembering how he and Rosie cheated on me. I felt Chloe squeeze my hand and when I looked at her face, there was a look that seemed like she felt sorry for me.

''Hey…'' I used my forefinger to raise her chin slightly. ''We've come here to have fun. Stop that look. I'm fine…'' Thanks to you, anyway…
