The taxi came to a halt in front of the giant black gates. I paid him his fee and ventured my way out, looking around the surroundings. The area was secluded, with no single being in sight. I spared my phone screen a glance, checking the message Ian had sent me. Since Hunter was treating me as someone incapable of anything, I was determined to show him my own capabilities.
I walked up to the gate and knocked, as there was no sign of any doorbell. Silence greeted me. I knocked for the second time, receiving the same treatment. I gently pushed the door and it opened slightly. My brows furrowed in question. How could they leave the gates open? What if someone broke into the house?
