I stood rooted in my spot, my blood boiling. I didn’t even bat an eyelid when the sound of Alessandro’s car driving out of the compound reached my ears. My mind whirled with a million questions and a thousand more thoughts.

How dare he? How could he even do such a thing?

I’d always perceived Alessandro to be a heartless and ruthless monster, but the last thing I expected was for him to bring a little boy into the equation.
