Chapter 34
Alessandro’s POV
Stars twinkled in the night sky, and even though they lit the damned thing up, it did nothing to brighten my mood—not like I gave a fuck about it anyway. Outside, as the black limo sped down the asphalt, I watched the world around me fade into nothing.
I recalled Matteo talking about traffic or something, but I tuned him out before he could say anything important. I had more important things to think about than how free the road was.
The meeting tonight had been a total disaster, and to think that Matteo and I had spent nothing less than three hours in that stupid warehouse. If I had known nothing good was going to come out of it, I wouldn’t have told Matteo to fix a meeting or alliance with anybody. I would have gone ahead with my plan of announcing myself as the Black Don’s son. That would have been more effective.
