Evelyn’s POV

I crossed my arms over my chest and glared at my brother as the boat sailed further away from the land. The smirk on his face said it all and I could feel the frustration bubbling up inside me, threatening to spill over like water heating up in a saucepan.

“Why does he always do this to me? Why do I always fall for his dumb tricks?” I muttered under my breath, shaking my head. This was too much for me to deal with; it was infuriating. Did he not see that I was already so stressed out and now faced with Nolan? Was it so much to be able to respect my boundaries?
