Isabelle’s POV

I began to stir as the sunlight flooded into the room. I opened my eyes which still felt heavy from last night. I came back to the penthouse with him and told him everything that had happened, of course, it ended with me having another breakdown.

He held me the entire time I cried, rubbing my back until I finally began to calm down. By the time I was out of tears, it was about three in the morning and we decided to go to bed. He offered to give me his room while he planned to take the couch, but I refused.

I wanted to have him close to me. His presence and his care for me seemed to be what was helping me process this.

The past twelve hours have opened my eyes in a way. He came for me when he didn’t have to, he went out of his way to be here when I needed him. It’s the reassurance that I needed to know his intentions are only for my best interest, it’s always been that way there’s just been outside factors getting in the way.
