Chapter 30

Sterling’s POV

Sofia came out of her coma a week ago today. I don’t know if her being awake is better or not. She appears so broken, unlike before. It seemed as though behind all of the tension and worry lay the thing that truly defined her. She has never looked like this to me. I become dizzy from all of her mood swings.

She can be fine one minute and scream the house down the next due to worry. At night, I find her pacing outside Steel’s bedroom looking frustrated. She also begins to fight me when I try to get her back in bed. I tried distracting her from the things on her mind but nothing ever worked. It bothers me that she is acting this way. I’ve never felt like this before and that is not good.

My phone woke me up with a buzz. I try not to wake her up as I slowly slip out of bed to answer the phone outside.

“This better be important,” I growl to the person on the other side of the line.
